QUILT SHOW 2026

Our next show is scheduled for May 1-2, 2026 in West Lethbridge, Alberta at:   Cavendish Farm Centre (Curling), Mauritania Road, West Lethbridge

Calling all Alberta quilters!  WILL YOU MAKE A QUILT TO ENTER? 

Quilt entry registrations will begin January 2, 2026 to March 31, 2026.  Please check back to this website January 1st for further details on submitting your entry forms and payment.

Here are the Quilt Entry CATEGORIES:

  1. Art Quilts– Quilts must be of original form and composition. They can be abstract or pictorial.
  2. Traditional /Original Wall Quilts from Patterns/Books/Workshops or Original Design-Quilts can be pieced or appliqued. Credit must be given to the published pattern, book, or workshop.  Quilts can be totally original or based on traditional style piecing/applique using blocks that are in the public domain.
  3. Traditional/Original Bed Quilts from Patterns/Books/Workshops or Original Design-Quilts can be pieced or appliqued. Credit must be given to the published pattern, book, or workshop.  Quilts can be totally original or based on traditional style piecing/applique using blocks that are in the public domain.
  4. Hand work-Quilts, table runners, wall hangings, wool felted, embroidery-Work can be machine pieced or appliqued but the majority of the finishing work must be by hand, or hand quilted.
  5. Modern Wall or Bed Quilt-Quilts depict modern design features such as minimalism, asymmetry, negative space, and alternate grid work. They may also feature improvisational piecing and solid fabrics.  Quilts may be original or from published patterns, books or workshops. Credit must be given to the published pattern, book, or workshop.
  6. Bags and wearables-Items may include travel bags, purses, vests, jackets etc.
  7. Décor– Items may include pillows, table runners, placemats, bowls, baskets etc.
  8. Machine Embroidery using a computerized embroidery sewing machine-Projects are completed using a computerized embroidery sewing machine and are to be one in a hoop. You may use a domestic machine to assemble the blocks/quilt and it may be quilted by a domestic machine or in the hoop using the embroidery sewing machine.  Embellishments may be added either by hand or domestic sewing machine.
  9. Miniature Quilt/Wall Hanging-A miniature quilt is a scaled down version of a large quilt, with blocks no larger than 4 inches square. A miniature is NOT a small quilt made with full size fabric or blocks. Fabric prints, applique, and borders should all be scaled proportionally. The maximum size is 24” by 24”.
  10. Youth(18 or under by entry deadline)-Youth entries may be quilts of any size, wearable art, or any quilted item.  They may be original or from a published pattern, book for workshop. Credit must be given to the published pattern, book, or workshop.

Here are the updated Quilt Entry RULES:

Please Note:  The number of rod and drape units that are 10 feet high is limited and as such we can only accept entry of the first 8 large size quilts submitted. (Maximum perimeter of quilt 385 inches, Maximum width 96 inches, Maximum length 96 inches)

All other categories will have a Maximum perimeter of 365, Maximum width of 96 inches, Maximum length of 84 inches.

  1. Entry Fee is $10.00 per item with a maximum of four entries per person.
  2. Entries will be completed online via electronic entry form, one entry per form. The accuracy of the form is the responsibility of the entry.
  3. You may choose only one Category for your quilt.
  4. The person who quilted the item must be identified on the entry form.
  5. A short description of the quilt must be provided and limited to 100 words. For example: Why did you make it? What were your favorite parts of the process? Are there features you would like to highlight?
  6. Quilts that require special handling will not be accepted.
  7. Embellishments must be securely affixed to the quilt.
  8. All quilts must be three layers.
  9. All quilts must have a sewn-on label identifying the name of the entrant and the name of the quilt.
  10. All quilts must have a basted-on sleeve of 4”, for hanging. Quilts without sleeves will not be accepted.
  11. Any quilt deemed unfit to hang will be removed from the show. (i.e. dirty, smelling like smoke, no sleeve, contains pins)
  12. Entry deadline is March 31, 2026.
  13. Entries must not have been shown in a previous Quilt Show.
